Extended School Year and Driver's Ed Staffing Request Due April 15th

Dear Primary Service Providers:

It is time for us to organize all requests for Extended School Year services. If your IEP team has already addressed the need for ESY during an IEP meeting this school year and completed the COMP 19a, please forward a copy to the NCKSEC. If your IEP team has not yet met to address the ESY question, please schedule a meeting to make the determination. Remember that the ESY determination is an IEP team decision so you will need a COMP 09 documenting the notice of the meeting.

Once the COMP 19a is completed the primary service provider must also complete a COMP 19b staffing request. Please send a copy of both forms to the NCKSEC office by April 15, 2009. For more information on Extended School Year procedures view the Extended School Year Clarification document.

Note: While Comp 19a and Comp 09 are normal student forms, Comp 19b is a Staff Form. Staff forms are generally forms that aren't tied directly to a student, are tied to multiple students on the same form or are tied a student who doesn't have WebKIDSS ID#.

To reach the Comp 19b: Extended School Year (staff) form:

1. Select "Staff" from the "Group List"

2. Click "Enter Data Into Forms"

3. Choose "Comp 19b: Extended School Year (staff)" from the drop down list

April 15, 2009 is also the due date for all Summer Term Special Education Driver's Education Staffing Requests (SPED-20), which is on the Certified page. Remember that student need for assistance with driver's education must be documented in the Supplemental Aids and Services section of the IEP.
