Update Student Accommodations for State Assessments (1/10/12 - 1/13/12) Due to wording changes, some of the State Assessment Accommodations for students with IEPs done prior to 10/16/2011 will no longer be selected within the WebKIDSS State Assessment Page. Please check the State Assessment Accommodations for all IEP's that were completed prior 10/16/2011. We will unlock WebKIDSS from 8:00am Tuesday to 5:00 pm Friday so that Primary Providers can access the State Assessment page and correct the WebKIDSS file by re-selecting the appropriate accommodations. I apologize for the inconvenience. Chris Changes to the Notice of Student Status Change (299) You probably noticed that there have been a couple of rounds of changes to the Notice of Student Status Change Form 299. Most of the changes have been the result of KSDE discontinuing MIS system for special education reporting and changing over to the new KanServ. This transition has been bumpy to say the least and is a long way from being complete. It is my hope however that most of the major bugs/differences have been identified and we won't have to make additional changes to our procedures. Notice of Student Status Change no longer prints after the IEP A new 299 still needs to be routed from provider to psych to NCKSEC each time any change is made to the IEP! The reason for this is the Notice of Student Status Change serves to notify Tamra when a change was made in WebKIDSS. She must then upload the Webkidss file to the new KanServ system and correct any verifications/errors. Despite needing the 299 to be completed each time we removed the force print for two reasons. Page numbering - When printing the IEP the 299 was page numbered as the last page of the IEP. The result was that parents were receiving a copy of the IEP that appeared to be missing the last page. Email From WebKIDSS - The form can be done electronically and emailed from provider to psych and from psych to Tamra so a paper copy may not be necessary. Error Checks Added Two check boxes were added for the provider initiating the 299. Both the MIS error checks and the General Error Checks should be done anytime a change is made to an IEP . This helps to insures that the file will uploaded to KanServ. Another quality assurance step should be taken prior to submitting the 299. Both the initiator of the form and the psychologist should review the Anticipated Services Chart and the Special Education and Related Services IEP page to insure they are accurate and consistent. No longer Auto-fills Primary Provider The primary provider name no longer auto fills from the Anticipated Services Chart. Because the 299 needs to be completed any time a change is made to the IEP there could be times when a provider other than the primary provider is initiating the form. The provider initiating the change to the IEP is the person responsible for completing the 299 and routing the form to the psychologist.
New WebKIDSS AddressThe new external log-in for WebKIDSS is http://24.225.20.123:8002. If you are having problems logging in at this address contact the NCKSEC Central Office at 543-2149.
